Forum: feature_films Subject: Is The Silent Command (1923) PD?

I was sort of surprised that it isn't here considering its a Bela Lugosi silent film.

I looked around it besides being on dvd it is on youtube and downloadable from some of those dubious pay membership downloading sites. I would have assumed any films made in the US in 1923 are PD.

If anyone has it and it is indeed Public Domain I would appreciate it if you could upload it.

Look for a renewal here.
It should have been renewed about 28 years after release.

Alpha Video doesn't seem to sell it, so it's probably still under copyright. Per Video-Cellar, all u.s. films released in 1922 or earlier are p.d.
